Four Day Workshop, September 9th - 30th

10am - 1pm

$270 All supplies included

Class Description:

This 4-week workshop will guide students through the fundamental tools and techniques for figure drawing. Using Andrew Loomis’ classic "Figure Drawing For All It’s Worth" as a primary resource for instruction and handouts, the course will cover perspective, proportion, basic anatomy, and light and shadow to help students achieve strong figure drawings.

Pat McCabe - Artist Bio

My art exploration has expanded in recent years with illustration as an area of growth. To increase skill, I make seasonal and holiday-themed drawings featuring myself and my three cats.  This series grew to include Native American lore about full moons and introduced characters like Buck, the mule deer, and Sid, the salmon.  I also make birthday cards for family and friends using many of the same cast. This practice continues to expand cast, refine the story line and style.

I also acquired a passion for beading, making necklaces resembling high-end jewelry, an interest, I believe, inherited from my mother who adored diamonds.  To achieve a similar sparkle without using traditional rare stones, I focus on intricate beadwork, mindful of the history often connected with where they come from.

I sketch and paint landscapes and animals with skill and, although skilled at figure drawing, painting them was a challenge until nearly three years ago.  Through portrait painting workshops and guidance of an exceptional teacher, I discovered my ability to paint portraits, an ongoing and fulfilling journey.

All supplies are provided to be used during the workshop.
