This beginner-friendly figure drawing course is designed for anyone who feels overwhelmed at the thought of drawing. Even if you can’t sketch a stick figure, we’ll help you build a strong foundation in both general art fundamentals and figure drawing basics.

  • Class Description:

    • 45-minute guided lessons each week, Once a week on Thursdays

    • Optional extended practice during the Live model's full 3-hour session.

    • Step-by-step guidance for applying art fundamentals to figure drawing.

Grow at Your Own Pace:
Students can repeat the beginner’s course as needed and gain free access to more advanced lessons while signed up for the beginner course when ready. Each quarter, we’ll introduce a new advanced curriculum so you can build on your skills every season. Attention: Access to advance lessons start April 10th

Jose Godoy Diaz
Artist Biography
 
Jose Godoy Diaz is a lifelong artist and experienced art instructor with over eight years of teaching expertise. He has spent the past year teaching Figure Drawing to adults through the Hayward Recreation Department.
 
Jose's teaching philosophy focuses on mastering the fundamentals of drawing the human form through an engaging, step-by-step approach. By emphasizing essential concepts such as gesture, structure, and perspective, students develop a robust visual library, empowering them to draw confidently from their imagination.
 
In Jose’s classes, students benefit from personalized, one-on-one mentorship and the chance to learn collaboratively within a group setting. By working alongside artists of varying skill levels, students are inspired to grow and refine their artistic
abilities.

  • Duration: 10 weeks, Thursdays, January 16th - March 20th, 2025

  • Class Time: 5:45 pm - 6:30 pm (with the option to stay for extended practice with a live model)

  • Cost: $170 all materials included

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refunds will be issued for any class or workshop cancelled by Urban Indigo Art and Design
  • For a full refund, you must notify Urban Indigo Art and Design online at least 7 calendar days (one week) before the class begins.   
  • Refund requests made less than 7 days notice are not guaranteed. Each case will be reviewed on an individual basis. If approved, the refund will incur a 50% processing fee.
  • Failure to attend a program (no shows) will not be granted a refund.
