This beginner-friendly class invites you to explore the vibrant world of watercolor. Whether you're a complete novice or have dabbled in art before, this class will help you discover new ways to work with the medium of watercolor, such as wet-on-wet, gradient washes, masking, and splatter techniques. By the end of the course you will have created artworks that you feel proud of and have obtained techniques to continue your watercolor journey.

Class Description:

Join us for engaging 1.5-hour sessions each week for four weeks, held every Saturday.

●      Structured Lessons: Each class features guided lessons focusing on key watercolor techniques such as, color theory, composition, or creating textures, designed to build your confidence and skills.

●      Hands-on Experimentation: Enjoy a supportive environment where you can freely experiment with materials and methods, allowing your creativity to flourish.

●      Guided Instruction: Receive step-by-step guidance to help you grasp each technique, encouraging playful exploration and artistic growth.

●      Community Connection: Engage with fellow artists, share your work, and receive inspiring feedback on your creations.

Mallory Whisenhunt, Instructor

Artist Bio:

Mallory is a versatile artist and passionate educator with a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her previous experience includes serving as the head instructor of a high school visual arts department and working as a freelance illustrator. Mallory taught a broad range of subjects, including studio art, graphic design, film, and photography. She fostered an environment where students could build confidence and develop their unique creative voices. She currently works full-time as a graphic designer, digital marketer, and photographer for a private school in the Bay Area. As a lifelong learner, Mallory is always eager to explore new creative endeavors and is equally passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences with others.
